We stayed over a Saturday night. Dinner bed and breakfast. Everything about it was excellent. Very comfortable double room at the front. We had drinks in the bar, then dinner in the restaurant and the food and service was first class. A lovely breakfast was served in the adjoining cafe in the rear garden terrace. This was our first time at this hotel and we will definitely return.

My partner and I decided to book the Nevill Arms to cater for a small wedding party of eleven people and to provide overnight accommodation for us and our guests. From the outset we were treated so well by all members of staff. Jane could not have been more patient and helpful and paid attention to detail. She worked on a menu with her head chef to accommodate us, including vegetarian and egg and dairy free. We returned from the wedding venue to prosecco and canapes in Cafe Nevill before moving into the conservatory for a private \'wedding breakfast\'. Service was second to none as we had our own Maitre \'d, Dumitru Herteli who is a consummate professional and worked his socks off all night. he paid intimate and close attention to all of our needs and was such a pleasure to everyone. The food was lovely and everyone had a fantastic time. Our accommodation was lovely, quiet and restful in this gorgeous building and wonderful location. We breakfasted on the morning in the restaurant and had a hearty range of choices, again with first class service. My wife and I stayed an extra night and found the bar staff were also amazing, friendly and efficient. On our second night we ate in the restaurant and were served by a very friendly and efficient team including Dumitru, who once again excelled as a professional with all diners and guests. On our second morning we breakfasted in Cafe Nevill and found the staff just as efficient and the breakfast first class. During our stay nothing was too difficult for the team, everything was clean, service fantastic and the ambience amazing. The housekeeping staff were friendly warm and full of good humor I highly recommend every aspect of this establishment. Thanks to all of the team for making our wedding memorable and special!
Dear John and GhislaineIt was a real pleasure to meet you both, and an honor to share you big dayI know Dumitru really enjoyed working with you on the evening, and he is keen for me to promote such occasions more.I hope we will be seeing you in the future, and wish you all the best in your marries lifeKind regardsJane

Set in the lovely village of Medbourne, The Nevill Arms never fails to please. The rooms are clean and well-appointed and the locals give the bar area a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant menu has a wide choice of very good food and drink to suit all tastes. A visit to their café is also highly recommended to savour the delicious cakes. Already have a room booked for next month.

I booked to stay at the Nevill Arms Inn the night before an all day business meeting in Market Harborough. I attend similar meeting 5-6 times per year and usually stay at an another Hotel situated in Market Harborough High St. I mentioned to a colleague of mine that the Clock/Bell Tower in Harborough High St chimes all through the night and I had hardy any sleep and he kindly suggested staying at Nevill Arms Inn. What a breath of fresh air. Beautiful old Inn lots of character, excellent food (both evening meal &breakfast) whit good sized comfortable en-suite bedroom. Every box ticked! Must return for pleasure with my other half for a quiet (chime free) break.

We stayed at the Nevill Arms so we could visit Rutland Water and Rockingham Castle over a weekend. The Nevill Arms was to a degree a random pick as we hoped it would be in reach of our destinations and would be nice and quiet with good food and accommodation.Despite the random nature of our choice, it’s seems we got lucky the Nevill Arms delivered on all the points. Accommodation was very comfortable – if staying longer I would had preferred a bath rather than shower. The room was well presented and everything was to hand with homemade biscuits and tea &coffee facilities and the all-important free Wi-Fi.The hotel itself is in a beautiful location with plenty of parking – but maybe we got lucky. As this was a special occasion we splashed out on dinner in the restaurant, the food and wine selection is good and the quality and service didn’t really fault. Breakfast in the morning again provided a good selection and the food was well cooked and presented. All the staff we met were very helpful and again couldn’t be faulted. If we had to stay in the area again, would consider the Nevill Arms – but maybe go for the four poster and try and get that bath.At least for us this was one random choice that turned out to be a positive and stress free experience.

Her attention to detail was amazing and she made it very stress free for us - we can\'t thank and recommended her enough! The food was excellent (again), with plenty of choice for both dinner and breakfast. The room we had this time was a little disappointing compared to last, but that could have been our fault when we booked. Will we stay again, definitely.Oh and the cat? We\'re sure we saw a large \"BIG\"cat trotting across the overspill car park at 7.30 on Sunday morning, it was the size of a medium sized dog and jet black. Up early next visit just in case....

We were very impressed with the decor in the restaurant and the food was lovely - only issue we had is that our mains arrived before our starters and we were sat near a large group of girls who were constantly going inside/outside for cigarettes. My chair kept getting knocked too. Breakfast was nice and service good.

We stayed one night at the Nevill Arms as we had to be briefly in the area. On arrival, we were shown up to a pleasant, roomy and extremely well appointed double room with a large, spacious bathroom. We had lovely crisp white bed linen and lots of fluffy white towels. We didn\'t expect to have dinner as we were eating with friends. Since this became only drinks, we arrived back hungry and were quickly accommodated with a perfect and efficiently served supper. Breakfast was delicious and extremely enjoyable in the sunny conservatory breakfast room - a lovely start to the day after a good night on a very comfortable bed. Altogether we had a most satisfactory and efficient overnight stay. (The only improvement would be SOFT down pillows!) Thank you very much, Neville Arms.

Wow what a stunning place. We stayed for just one night but packed loads of stuff in the time we had. First was afternoon tea in the courtyard which was amazing. Then had drinks with friends in the afternoon outside by the stream. We then spent the evening in the restaurant and I think we were the last to leave ! An excellent nights sleep in a four poster bed and up for breakfast in the morning. For anyone that turns their nose up at black pudding. Try the black pudding they serve at the Nevill. It\'s outstanding. All in all top marks and thanks to all staff that were always smiling and helpful. We shall return.
Dear Mr Drury, What a lovely review. Glad you all enjoyed your weekend with us. We love the black pudding so much, we have it flown down form Scotland. I will pass your comments on to our staffKind regardsJane Difazio

One of our party was racing at Rockingham and we needed an overnight stay. What a find! Set in the beautiful village of Medbourne the Nevill Arms is situated next to a babbling brook, ideal for enjoying a pint of real ale or a glass of wine while watching the ducks. Our room was in the old part of the building and had all the finishing touches. We had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast was served in the all day Cafe Nevill. Both meals were excellent with extensive choices. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Well a mistake on the part of the Nevill Arms that meant we changed hotel/inn as a result BUT this was an honest mistake made and it would not for one moment stop us returning soon. We arrived early and had lunch, which was superb and yet again great service by all staff. Then the mishap occurred with the wrong room being reserved, which really was what we wanted as it\'s such a good room!Sorry if I\'ve got the name wrong but I think it was Mark that tried hard to resolve the problem. Very professional in dealing with us, courteous and polite. Still a 5 star place in my eyes and we will come back soon I hope...

Really nice place to stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was very clean and recently refurbished, bathroom also very modern, and the food at booth the restaurant and cafe were also of a high standard. The only draw back was the bed, which was far too soft (very soft) for my wife or I, but I guess this is personal preference. Otherwise, a great little place.

My husband and I have visited the Nevill Arms before. This time we stayed in one of the new rooms. The facilities were very good, with strong shower and generous quantities of shower gel/bubblebath however even though the bed was new it was very bouncy:one of you would turn over and the other almost fell out. We mentioned it to staff, who were keen to remedy it.The food, as ever, was excellent with an interesting wine list.During dinner, I must have knocked my handbag over and lost my purse. The staff were very quick to find me afterwards in order to return it.We didn\'t have breakfast on this occasion, but if I were to gripe about just one thing, the breakfast times are pretty short and stop quite early (9.30 on a Sunday, if I recall) It is for this reason I rate the stay 4/5
Dear SarahWe are glad you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for your reviewWe do serve breakfast to guests later than 9.30, cooked breakfast to order can be served right up until 12 noon. However we do remove the buffet table by about 9.45, as the cafe gets busy with other customers, but would get you cereals, juice etc if you wishedPerhaps we don\'t make this clear enough - sorryHope we will see you again anywayKind regardsJane Difazio

Our 2nd stay at the Neville Arms, sadly not for a happy occasion but the comfort, welcome and excellent food made a difficult visit much more bearable. On the first visit I left all our toiletries behind so absolutely delighted by their very thoughtful idea of emergency toiletries in the rooms - THANK YOU.This visit we looked forward to the home made biscuits in the rooms and the wonderful breakfast. The evening meal was also first class.
Dear Sally, thank you for your nice comments. We are glad you all enjoyed your stay, be it a sad occasion, has it been a year?Hope we will see you all every year?Kind regardsJane Difazio

Wonderfully comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast. Lovely attentive staff. Small moan:I ordered mussels but they came with meat (not mentioned on the menu), but the chef quickly cooked me some more lovely fish.
Dear Penelope, We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us.I will have a chat to the Chef about not mentioning the meat in the mussels on his menu. Hope we will see you againKind regards, Jane Difazio

Stayed with my wife and 2 friends and had a really fantastic time. Rooms were really good with big bed and nice shower room. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent with a varied choice. The girls who were serving were very pleasant and attentive. Breakfastwas also of very good quality although we were slightly disappointed to be served in the bar instead of the cafe. All in it was a great weekend.

We booked in on Saturday morning sight unseen and we were very happy with what we got.The Staff are great, the room is very comfortable (could do something to shield the external light above the window so it was darker inside.) and the food was superb.Great experience and recommended.

This was our second visit to the Nevill Arms and our room, room 7, was very quiet and comfortable with a great view of the river. We enjoyed our dinner - the mussels were perfectly cooked and steaks were delicious. As there was a party of 12 before us we were warned the food would take a while so we asked for bread and olives but these took several reminders (and 30 minutes) before they arrived. However the serving staff were very pleasant and we were offered a free drink as compensation.
Dear NicolaWe are glad you enjoyed your stay, and sorry to have kept you waiting. We do continually endeavor to tick ALL the boxes. We hope we will see you again in the future, Kind regards, Jane Difazio

We could not say enough about the wonderful the staff at theNevill Arms.Everyone had a smile for us and seemed to be so happy to be there (even on Christmas). They were so helpful and accommodating. The breakfast menu was more than adequate with the additional buffet of cereals, fruits and yoghurt.Porridge would have been a welcome addition though as a full breakfast is not always necessary. The room, #6, was spacious, clean and well appointed. The only thing we would advise is that the bed is not a king sized bed.....the measurements are given on the website and it is a queen in the USA ( should have measured our king at home and would have been forewarned)We did not take advantage of the restaurant as we were touring about during the day and back late. From what we saw, all that were in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.We would recommend your establishmentto friends.
Dear Debra, Thank you for your nice comments, we will address the \\\'porridge\\\' point, I have asked the breakfast staff to start offering from now onward. I believe that in America, the bed sizing is different, what we have are \\\'English\\\' King sized beds (we do tend to do everything on a slightly smaller scale here) just not as large as you are used to!It\\\'s a pity you didn\\\'t try our restaurant, the food is very good, but we are please you chose us again, and hope to see you again in the future. Kind regardsJane Difazio

We stayed here 2 nights in December and were very well treated. The rooms were clean and mostly comfortable, although there was some noise from a boiler in room 12. The staff were helpful booking taxis and serving. We dined in the restaurant one night. Most enjoyed the food with a few minor quibbles -the fish and chips had a few bones in and the burger was a little dry. Breakfasts took a while to arrive but we were a group of 7 and weren\'t in a hurry. The poached and scrambled eggs were overdone but the cooked breakfast and eggs benedict were delicious. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again when we visit in a few months.

Staff could not have been nicer for a sad reason for staying with them, their sister inn, the White Horse at Stoke Albany also provided lovely food and accommodation for the rest of the family. The rooms are wonderful, the hospitality tray great but best of all was the very thoughtful provision of basic toiletries for those who had forgotten theirs, that was us.Breakfasts were awesome.Thank you Nevill Arms

Spent two nights here in October 14 for a relaxing weekend break. The beautiful location and quiet comfortable room were excellent value and the food at the hotel is especially good. Our first night meal in the restaurant was superb but the bar snacks the following evening just as good. Breakfast was a particular highlight with a wide choice of options, all individually cooked to perfection. The staff at The Nevill Arms are a credit, friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and I am sure we will return.

We really enjoyed our stay. Superb dinner and choice of wines. My only slight quibble is that the room 8 bathroon was a bit small, to minimise the footprint of the toilet it has been set too far back and this means the seat tends to fall when raised for a man! Can be a pain!! Other than that all was great, your staff are a credit to your company and clearly trained well. We had stayed a lot when owned by Nick and Elaine so it was a lovely return for us both. Thank you.
Dear Mr Moody, thank you for your comments. We are always looking to improve wherever we can, and your suggestions are most welcome. We cannot do much about the size of that bathroom I'm afraid, but we will work towards making the most of the space we have there. Having already been away for 7 nights this year on business, I was looking for somewhere more interesting to stay than the large chains of hotels. When I turned up at the Nevill Arms I was immediately impressed by the building, and greeted by a very friendly staff member. The room was a very good size, it was clean, comfy and very well appointed. Speciality beers on tap, excellent meal and the costs were very reasonable. I will be looking to stay here for leisure in the future, as well as business.

A charming old hostelry with rooms, a restaurant and a cafe. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated, the food in the restaurant is very good and the breakfast was both tasty and enormous. However the USP was the courteous, attentive and exceptionally helpful staff who made our stay very pleasant.

Was on business in Corby and almost stayed in one of the generic chain hotels, but they were full. This was very fortunate for me, because I found the Nevill Arms inn and it's lovely. Friendly bar with real fire, helpful staff, excellent food and a comfortable &well-equipped room.Could not ask for more. Will definitely stay againAnd, in response to an earlier reviewer, they now have wi-fi with a good signal throughout the inn.

Polite and helpful staff, lovely room, great breakfast. Out the front of Nevill is very picturesque. If I had to find a negative, the bar area is in slight need of a freshen up, and the view from our room was not spectacular - but I'm struggling.Overall I would definitely recommend staying at the Nevill to friends and family.

We had a lovely couple of nights at the Nevill Arms. A great location in the centre of the village and a very picturesque part of the country. Food is very good, but let down a little by some inattentive service (waitress walks up to one table, delivers something and walks straight out without looking to see if anyone else needs help, repeat several times). Niggle no.2:they topped up the breakfast juice pitcher with UHT concentrate juice (at least do that in the kitchen and not in full view). On the plus side, when we asked for a fan, they went out and bought one for us.Recommended
Dear Mr WoodsThank you for your comments, we are always grateful to hear views good or not so good.Generally we get glowing reports from customers, re our staff. However it seems your experience was not so good.Niggle no. 2 is very embarrassing to hear, and it is a standard that I would have thought needed no training, but alas, back to the drawing board on that.Service - I am sorry you had a lack of attention, it is one of the points we make as a central part of our training ' Scan', being a word that is repeated and repeated to our staff over and over.Would you be able to tell me if this problem occurred at breakfast, or in the cafe, or in our main dining room at dinner.Hopefully you will come back to us one day, and experience a better level of attention.Thank you for taking the time to send us your commentsKind regardsJane DifazioThe Nevill Arms

4 of us stayed for a long weekend. The atmosphere in the bar on both nights friendly and warm this had nothing to do with the roaring fire! We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food excellent, good chose of wine and service was always with a smile. The guys really enjoyed the real ale on offer. The rooms where large enough, clean with all the bits and bobs you could possibly need.Would highly recommend and stay again.

Location lovely, staff polite, helpful and welcoming, room very clean and well presented, bed beautifully put together, very comfortable, food devine and overall experience a real pleasure. Only niggle was that the advertising a little ambiguous regarding bath or shower! We had a shower but felt that there was plenty of room for a large bath, which would have been nicer. Will definately recommend to friends.

The staff were all most professional and helpful. The rooms were freshly decorated and beautifully clean with all the facilities that one could possibly want. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. If I had one small complaint (and only because I don't want the folks at the Neville to become too smug by making them think that they're perfect ;-) It would be the noise from the bin men at 06:15 on the Tuesday morning, maybe you could consider siting the skips further away from the guest accommodation?
Dear Angela,Thank you for your kind comments. With regards to the bin emptying, we had had issue in the previous few days, and the bin company said that they didn't come before 8.30am, clearly that was not the case, and now we have been firmer with them, obviously, if they do not adjust accordingly we will be looking for a different company. Our apologies for waking you.You left your nightie behind, and it is on it's way back to you (from before I read you compliments by the way)Kind regardsJane DifazioThe Nevill Arms
